Abbey's Gone With the Wind Homepage

One of the pleasures I get from surfing the web for this column is seeing sites that are in various stages of construction. Some may use the term disarray, but I have seen quite a variety. I like to feature ones that, while being under construction, are live and on the web. It is fun watching a new site develop and grow.

Today's Family Site is a perfect example of what I am talking about. It is Abbey's Gone With the Wind Homepage, and is about (surprise) the 1939 film "Gone With the Wind". I know there are other sites about this film, but this one is in a very embryonic state, and is well worth watching. It currently offers a very tough trivia contest, a contest on identifying a quote from the film offered by a visitor ( the person that correctly answers it gets to put up the next quote), and an on-line poll. There is an email list, a chance to buy and sell GWTW memorabilia, and a soon to be growing list of links.

The film this site salutes is an American icon. Arguments can be made that it is the most successful film of all time. This site will go a long ways towards proving that it is. Check back often, as it will be changing with great regularity.
