AdSense Secrets 2.0

There was an old cooling unit at the hospital where I work that had been there for years. It was so old that only one of the old timers in the engineering plant could make it run and keep it running. When it came time for him to retire, he asked his boss if he wanted him to train someone to work on this unit, to show them the little intricacies and fine points. His boss thought about it and said, "No, it can't be that hard to fix, any of the guys can work on it". The subject was dropped.

Fast forward about one year, and the chiller unit in question had a major problem, and, you guessed it, no one could fix it. So the manager asked the old timer to come in, out of retirement, and try to get it working. He was in such desperation that he would pay his bill, no matter what if he could just get it fixed. So the old timer came in, looked at it for about 5 minutes, went over and twisted one valve and pushed two switches, and the problem was fixed.

The manager was overjoyed, until he got the old timer's bill. It was marked "Repairs to cooler: $750.00". He was outraged, it seemed too expensive. "You were only here 5 minutes and you give me a bill for this amount. I need you to justify what you did!".

The old timer thought a minute, took the bill back, and gave it back to the manager. This time it read: "Repairs: $10.00. Knowing What To Repair: $740.00" The bill was paid without comment.
