AnywhereCD

I hate the RIAA. I believe they are corporate evil incarnate. They are there to serve the interests of the RIAA. They are not concerned with the interests of the musical artists they purport to represent. No, they care about one thing only: the most profit they can wring out of the public to fill their own coffers.

One of the concepts most loudly promoted by this group of scoundrels is digital rights management (DRM).

DRM is a form of copy protection that restricts what you can do with a file that you have legally purchased. It can be found nearly everywhere: iTunes, Napster, Rhapsody, and most other online music stores have some form of DRM which prevents you from doing whatever you want with your music.

That's garbage. If you pay for it, it should be yours to do whatever you wish: copy multiple times for backup purposes, copy to multiple listening devices, transform to different formats.

NO, says the RIAA!

Well, despite the greedy lawyer-laden syndicate, the fact is that there are alternatives.

You can purchase the CD from a store, then rip the songs from it and convert them to digital files. However, not everyone id technically savvy enough to do so.

Another alternative is today's FamilyFirst pick: AnywhereCD.

AnywhereCD lets you purchase the CD (to be delivered to you via snailmail. But you also get instant access to the songs via 192 kbps mp3 files with NO DRM!

It's a good, LEGAL, easy alternative to buying music laden with worthless annoying DRM. Take a look and see for yourself.
