AnywhereCD

The RIAA has managed to “shut down” allofmp3.com (wink, wink, nudge, nudge, say no more!). I won't state the obvious in what fans of Russian-marketed music can do, but what I WILL do today is offer an alternative to walking into a music store at the mall and paying a horribly inflated price for a CD, the ultimate in 20-year-old technology.

Today's FamilyFirst pick is Anywhere CD. What they do is offer entire CD's for sale for $7.00. That buys you instant downloading of 192 kbps mp3's, and delivery of a CD in snailmail later.

Hurry, because the site says “Going out of business.” I'm assuming that scummy RIAA lawyers have managed to close their loopholes that bypass paying an idiotic price for DRM-laden music that you'll be darned lucky to listen to with any fidelity whatsoever.

Music fans, please STOP buying music on CD's and also quit buying any music that is DRM-protected.

This is the new civil rights movement. What you pay for is YOURS. Don't let wealthy speculators determine what you do with your property. And consider switching your Windows computer to an O/S that bypasses the ponderous overhead of DRM, such as Linux. I did so several months ago, and have not looked back.
