ASCII Maps
May 18, 2006
Well, today's FamilyFirst site is one that isn't going to get a lot of commentary from me.
That's because you just have to go see it to believe it.
What this guy has done is to take GoogleMaps and turn it into . . .
Are you ready for this?
ASCII.
That's right, instead of a map of the US, you have an ASCII image.
Not familiar with what an ASCII image is? Picture an email signature that creates a picture with keyboard characters.
This is really amazing. You drill down into the map and the ASCII changes into more detailed closeup maps.
In the event you get lost, you can redraw th map with Google's standard maps.
Waste of time? Maybe. Silly? Perhaps. Fascinating? You bet!
Enjoy ASCII Maps.
