Bear Den
January 15, 2004
The preservation of animals is becoming a major project around the world these days. If we aren't careful, animals that were once plentiful in the wilds will all wind up in locked cages in zoos, or worse, will cease to exist.
The subject of today's Family First Site is the bear. Not just any bear, but every bear in the world. The site, Welcome to the Bear Den, is a collection of information on who and what bears are, where they live, as well as on-going preservation efforts on their behalf. It is interesting to see the variety of them, as well as the links to other sites around the world. There are even some games to play, and in-depth data sheets on eight species.
It is only through the efforts of organizations like this that our wildlife has a chance to survive. The Bear Taxon Advisory Group, or BEARTAG, is making a difference in our world. Spend a few moments here, and learn more about their work. It will be time well spent.
