Biography

I was watching the television tonight, channel surfing as usual, and came across an interesting program on the Flying Wallendas. They were and are a high wire circus act that has been prominent in that arena for over 7 generations, almost 100 years. The program was part of the television program that has been a part of the Arts and Entertainment TV network for over 10 years.

The program is called Biography, and lives up to its name in every episode. The episodes, usually one hour in length, highlight the life of a prominent individual or family. They are well written and prepared, with footage and interviews for the program that is being produced. For example, with the Wallenda's episode tonight, there were interviews with many of the surviving relatives of the family patriarch Karl. The site complements the specific episodes, with a monthly calendar that shows the show of the day. You can jump to a specific program for a description of it, as well as a short Real Video preview. There are also BioBytes, short one-minute Real Video clips that are not shown anywhere but on the Internet. The current one features Microsoft founder Bill Gates.

This site helps highlight a show that goes a long way to proving that history can be entertaining as well as educational. Spend some time at this site, and then some time with the channel. It will be time well spent.
