Bookhive

Looking for a good book to read on a cold winter night. Looking for a good book for your young ones to read this summer. I can remember some great times curling up with a good book in the shade of a tree, in a hammock and some ice-cold lemonade. It was a good way to spend a hot summer afternoon. Today's FamSite has some excellent ideas on what reading material would be for best for kids.

Called BookHive, it is a site that is sponsored by Public Library of Charlotte and Mecklenberg County. The site is divided into subject areas such as adventure, biographies, classics, mystery, fantasy, and folklore, among others. There is a search engine for the review database, as well as a tool that allows you to narrow a review category to a specific age level, such as preschool or toddler. There is a wide range subject matter here, but all are worth reading. The reviews all include book length, publisher, and appropriate age level.

There is something for everyone at this site. From "Old Yeller" to "Aunt Eater's Mystery Vacation", the perfect summer afternoon is just waiting to be found here. Enjoy your stop and be sure to share with others.
