Today's the big day. The most intersting Super Bowl in years, IMHO. Both teams had to overcome unusual adversities to get here.
Chicago was picked by nobody to have the year that they had. And as good as it was, stumbling down the stretch nearly caused them to miss out.
Indianapolis found itself in a position that looked all too familiar: down 21-3 to Tom Brady's Patriots in the AFC championship game. But they made the biggest comeback in history to turn it around and win their ticket to Miami.
Yesterday, we focused on Peyton Manning. Today, we focus on the Bears' superstar Brian Urlacher.
The Manning/Urlacher showdown should prove to be an entertaining show within the game itself: the best quarterback in the NFL being pestered by the best linebacker.
Urlacher is a certified superstar. He has more tackles in six seasons than any Chicago Bear. We're talking about a team with a history that goes back to 1919! He joined the Bears in 2000, and has already been to five Pro Bowls! He's a huge reason why the Bears have the most feared defense in the game.
Today's FamilyFirst site, brianurlacher.com, is his official homepage. You can download wallpaper, read up on the latest Urlacher news, and check out his involvement with the Special Olympics programs in Chicago, and also in his home state of New Mexico.
Here's to a feared defender on the field, and an admirable person off of it. Sadly, that's a rarity in the NFL these days.
