Bruce Springsteen(.net)

It is with sadness that I heard today of the untimely death of Danny Federici from a three-year battle with melanoma.

Federici was the solid keyboard anchor to the E Street Band, going back to the day when they invited an audacious fellow Asbury Park, NJ resident by the name of Bruce to join them.

I am a rabid Springsteen fan. I have been one since the first time Born to Run cracked the radio ceiling and began getting lots of airtime back in 1975. The next song by the Boss and his band that I laid ears on was Thunder Road.

After hearing those two, a lifelong love of his music began.

And a huge part of that music, which will be sorely missed by all, was Mr. Federici.

It was Danny and Vini "Mad Dog" Lopez who invited the raw singer to join them back in the late 60's.

Happily for fans of rock and roll music, he accepted.

The site contains lots of video footage from the current Magic tour. The footage contains much of Danny Federici's keyboard and accordion playing.

RIP, Danny. You will be be missed.

Bruce.......please do all you can for the Melanoma fight. This awful cancer
has grown rampant and yet many people have little knowlege of how widespread it really is. My son contacted this, in his eye, at the age of 17. Ocular
melanoma takes a further backseat as people are not aware of it's existance....trust me it is there and needs backing to stop it.

    HELP..........Lana
