My aunt and uncle made their living growing apples in Oregon. It seasonal work, so there were times where they needed to find ways to supplement their income. One of the ways they did that was to sell Amway Products. They were quite successful, even earning a car to help them in their business. Amway is one example of how everyday people can run a business from their homes, and make a pretty good living at it. There are other such opportunities, such as Mary Kay Cosmetics, and Tupperware. The latter is the subject of today's Family First Site, one which helps both buyers and sellers come together.
The site is called Burpit.com The Home for All Things Tupperware. It is a forum discussion site, one in which everyone can participate. What is so interesting about this type of site is the free exchange of ideas, both on buying and selling, as well as the use of the product. The site has a wide variety of discussion areas available. There are main topic areas such as product information, tupperware consultants, general questions. Each of the main topic areas is then further divided in more focused topic areas. Under consultants, there are forums for flyers, fund raisers, party ideas, sales tools, and the latest product news.
Tupperware has at times been the subject of jokes and humor. But it is still here, and to be truthful, it is a pretty good product. I use it, my wife uses it, and people I work with use it. I think some of the humor was more from the marketing approach rather than the product itself. But it must be a successful way to market and sell a product, since they are still thriving. They have changed with the times, as this site shows. But it is still a product that is sold person to person. How successful that person is depends on how he markets his product. Today's site is one tool that can help sellers achieve that success, as well as provide a point of contact for consumers. It's all about the "burp!"
