Children's Safety Zone
April 05, 1997
Child safety has always been a concern to me. As the father of 3 children, I was a mother hen when it came to my children were very young. I was afraid to let them out of my site, afraid they would fall and hurt themselves, or some bully would hurt them. My wife convinced me that kids will be kids, even in this day and age.
Today's site, Children's Safety Zone, is a collection of articles and links relating to child safety. There is a Babysitting guide, with helpful information the duties and responsibility of being a baby sitter. There is a section on Christmas safety, as well as an area for Fire Safety tips and stories that tell the true facts of fire. There is an excellent section on Pool Safety, with facts and figures on water accidents, as well as safety tips and a "high profile" situation. There is even a section on missing children that is updated every 10 minutes. Kind of depressing, but still an important issue that needs to be dealt with.
This is an eye opening site. But it reinforces my belief that common sense is still the best way to prevent accidents. This site helps put that common sense approach into words and pictures, and get across a very important message.
