Chili!

chili!.jpgI just finished a big bowl of my special homemade chili. So what better choice for today's FamilyFirst site than Chili!

My wife and I make our own versions of chili, and of course we both think ours is superior to the other's! Briana prefers lots of tomato sauce and lots of beans. Me, I like pure lean ground beef (NO beans!), with chopped onions, some fresh garlic, and easy on the tomatoes. Oh, and a half can of beer, of course!

This site has some powerfully good chili recipes. Check out the smoked chili: You begin by smoking three and a half pounds of sirloin steak. Mmmmm . . . that's got to be good.

Other chili recipes include Oww! Chili, Buffalo Hump Chili, Theresa's Short-Skirt Chili, Rojos Y Verde, and Flat Snake Chili.

The Notes page is full of good chili knowledge and trivia. Did you make your chili just too hot to eat? There are solutions that will make it palatable. Too much salt? You can fix that with a potato! Read about how to properly used dried chile powder, too, and how it's different from chili powder.

Get chili recipes from the 19th century, too. Wow, you could be eating chili from the same recipe that your great-grandma fixed!

The chili history page is fascinatin', too. I enjoyed Lyndon Johnson's chili negotiation room. Pity the unprepared foreign dignitary!

So enjoy today's delicious FamilyFirst site. The antacids are in the top right drawer in my desk.
