Cleaning Your Registry
April 05, 2005

I had a nightmare with my computer this past weekend. I was surfing the net, got an error from one site I visited, but didn't think anything about it. When I finished with my computer for the day, I turned it off, and it shut down normally. But when I turned it on the next day, I got the infamous "Windows has encountered an error and needs to shut down" error. I got this while I was booting to Windows, so what I wound up with was a blue screen with a cursor (not a Blue Screen of Death, just a desktop with no icons). To make a long story short, I was able to recover thanks to the Windows Restore function. But in looking back at what happened, I realize there was a time bomb in my computer waiting to go off. If I had installed and used the subject of today's Family First Site, this might not have happened to me.
The site is called Error Nuker. You are probably asking, what is an Error Nuker? It is a powerful utility that will scan the Windows Registry to identify errors and ways to optimize the performance of the Registry. Unlike other similar tools of this type, Error Nuker is very careful with the registry. It never deletes a registry entry if this could harm your system. Now messing with your registry can be dangerous!! If you don't know what you're doing, you could easily be reloading Windows from scratch. Modifying the Windows Registry is a very daunting task. The Internet is flooded with registry cleaning utilities that may remove vital system entries when cleaning your registry. Some of them have backup and restore options, but an error in Windows Registry may prevent Windows from booting - what good is a backup if you cannot use it? What is it that makes Error Nuker different from these other programs?
What makes this program different is that its number one priority is safety. The designers thoroughly tested Error Nuker and the number of false positives was reduced to zero. It uses what they call Windows Registry Repair Algorithm (WRRA) to make sure that it doesn't remove a Windows Registry key if there is a chance that it might hurt your system. It can run in an automatic mode, a customized mode (letting the user choose what programs/entrires to look for), a manual mode (gives the user a chance to select what to remove after scanning), as well as a scheduler to set when the program runs. Each mode creates a backup file so you can restore just in case any unforseen problems.
This program provides a sense of security that others of the same type do not. Nothing is perfect in this high tech world, but this program comes as close to doing what it says it will. They offer a free online scan check of your computer, before you even buy anything. So what does one have to loose in checking it out.

Can you please tell me what is meant by Registry, as in Windows Registry? I cannot find any rererence to that term anywhere. When I declined to pay $39.99 for Errornuker, they offered it to me at the price of $9.99. This smells to me suspiciously like some sort of con. trick.
The registry is the part of Windows that has setting for all of the programs and hardware that is on your computer. If you remember the win.ini files from the older Windows, the resgistry performs a similar function, but more invasively. Think of it as win.ini or config.sys on steroids. I can't understand why they offered it to you at a lower price. Interesting.
