Coins of the Realm Part 2
June 12, 2008
Today's FamilyFirst pick will, I hope, make you stop and think.
It's a comic called Coins of the Realm, Part 2. You can read Part 1 by clicking on a link at the top of the site.
It's all about forward thinking, a new business plan for the ages.
Once upon a time, we had to rely on big corporations to provide us with things like books, comics, and music.
Well, the simple fact is that we no longer require fatcats, thank you.
Today's wired economy makes it entirely possible to transfer funds directly to the producer of art.
Corporate lawyers and execs simply don't need to siphon off their cut anymore. What's the point?
That would eliminate, for example, the RIAA.
Just what purpose does the lawsuit-happy bunch of nobodies serve, anyway?
The site definitely presents an idealistic concept (in mild PG language), but it's an idea that could easily happen.
Imagine paying 15 cents a song in funds that go to the ARTIST, not some businessman who has no concept of art?
Check out the site. Hey, let's make it happen!
