Dance to Health

Shall we dance?
Dancing is not unique to humans, creatures ranging the gamut from honeybees to whales performing rhythmic motions for the apparent simple reason of enjoying them. Indeed, dancing, along with the music we dance to, are things we instinctively enjoy.
Today's FamilyFirst site is all about dancing, but dancing for a special cause. It's called Dance to Health, and here's their mission:
DEAR PARENTS,CAREERS OF A CHILD WITH VERY SPECIAL HEALTH NEEDS: Please let me ask you some questions about your childs' health and wellbeing.:-Do you desperately want to help your child who has special needs? Are you looking for a way to calm/stimulate him or her? Are you looking for ways to have an even deeper level of communication with him or her? Are you looking for ways to have fun and to explore the full potential of your special needs child? Are you looking for ways to help your child to integrate socially? Are you looking for a way to improve your childs' posture, co-ordination and general health? Are you looking for ways to give your child confidence and a feeling of self-worth? IF YOUR ANSWER TO THESE QUESTIONS IS YES THEN MY MANUAL "DANCE TO HEALTH - HELP YOUR SPECIAL NEEDS CHILD THROUGH IMPROVISATIONAL DANCE" COULD WELL BE PART OF THE ANSWER.
This site's goal is to help your child, particularly your child with special health needs, to be enhanced through the wonderful medium of dance.
Yes, they are selling a book here. And it may well be worth your time to check out. But they also offer a tremendous amount of information about dancing, as well, including history, techniques, etc.
So take a moment to consider a beautiful, artistic way to deal with your child's special needs: dance!
