Deal of Day

DealofDay.comWell, it is officially the Holiday Shopping Season. Today was unofficially known as Black Friday (so named because this is the day that retailers traditionally begin making a profit and are therefore "in the black"), and if you had the courage, you hit the malls and the chain stores, and shopped till you dropped. But if you were like me, you did your shopping the cyber way, and maybe even made some purchases. Shopping the Internet way is becoming very popular, and many sites are catering to those would rather hit the keyboard than hit the malls. Today Family First takes a look at one of the oldest and best sites around.

Called DealofDay.com, this site lives up to its name by featuring the daily deals from both internet and stores from all over. The site features a wide range of products, from art and baby items, to travel and tupperware. Some of the deals featured today are from Old Navy, Amazon.com, Buy.com, Best Buy, Barnes & Noble, and ToysRus. There is a chat area to talk with other shoppers, both to share experiences and other deals. Some of the other areas featured are deals that expire soon, recently posted deals, popular deals, what products and merchants are hot, and even an auction area.

There is quite a bit to see and do at this site. Why not take advantage of the latest technology, save your gas, avoid the long lines, and still fill all the requests on your Christmas list. I can almost guarantee you that you will be able to find something for everyone here, from the youngest to the oldest, and in-betweeners as well.

It's called "Black Friday" because it's when retailers hope their businesses go from being in the red to being in the black for the year.
