Dog of the Day
March 23, 2006
We've had Dugan running our house now for a month, and I have dogs on my mind (and a miniature schnauzer asleep in my lap as I write this column . . .).
So with that, today's FamilyFirst site celebrates the dog of the day. In fact, it's called Dog of the Day!
Every day, a new dog is featured, along with a short bio. At press time, it was Silas, a red bone coon hound who makes his home in Calgary, Alberta. A very fine looking fellow indeed!
I know, I know, not everyone is into dogs. That's okay. There are links to the Cat of the Day and the Pet of the Day. Pet of the Day features all creatures great and small, from mice to donkeys. Heck, there are probably elephants in there somewhere! Check the archives. After all, these folks have been doing this since 1997.
If you have a wonderful critter at home, you'll probably want to submit a photo. I just sent in a pic of Doogie Schnauzer, along with his story.
There are lots of other fun things going on here, too. There's a forum that is full of comments from well-mannered pet lovers, discussing everything from today's pet to pet health to pet behavior, with everything pet-related in between.
I had fun with the search function. It turns out nobody has a pet elephant after all ;-), but I did call up a plethora of miniature schnauzers, and enjoyed reading about each one.
So today's FamilyFirst site should lighten your day just a bit. And friends, that's our business here at FamilyFirst.com.
