Download and Organize FREE Music

I subscribe to a lot of tech newsletters. Each year, they make predictions about what the new year will bring. Interestingly, this year more than one predicted the RIAA will cease to exist sometime in 2008.

Wishful thinking aside, today's FamilyFirst site will point you to to FREE music that you can download and organize. Despite what the lawsuits against the elderly and grade-school-aged would lead you to believe, terabytes of free, legal, excellent mp3's are available on the web.

The question is, how do you find it?

Enter Lifehacker's blog entry on how to download and listen to free music on the web.

You'll learn how to perform effective searches using free tools to find hordes of free mp3's posted by both independent and mainstream artists. You'll also learn about tools like Tunestor, which allows you to make a right-click selection and download music directly to iTunes, so you can quickly and easily get it into your iPod.

So have a ball discovering the vast wealth of free, legal music on the web. And feel good about providing the RIAA with absolutely no middleman profits.
