Eric D Snider

There are gifted writers who express opinions about movies and such with intelligence, wit, and a touch of humility. Such a reviewer is Eric Snider.

Perhaps you've heard of him. Sadly, I hadn't (although you can call me a fan now). Here's his bio:

Eric D. Snider is a freelance writer, critic, columnist, humorist, bon vivant, raconteur and man-about-town. He was raised in Southern California, lived in Utah for 10 years, and now resides in beautiful Portland, Ore. He is a prolific film critic, if not a discerning or reliable one, reviewing some 300 movies a year, and he regularly covers the Sundance, Portland, CineVegas and South By Southwest film festivals. His "Snide Remarks" humor column is published weekly for subscribers at EricDSnider.com. In addition, Eric occasionally performs comedy songs he has written, and has recorded two alleged CDs of that alleged material.

And that's the site we feature today: EricDSnider.com.

The guy has attitude, and recalls being labeled a smart-aleck as a child. Wow, could we be related? His Snide Remarks poke fun at anybody and everybody. It's good-natured, though, and very family-safe (although it may encourage youngsters to grow up like me).

And the movie reviews are, simply, good stuff. Not too long, intelligent, and fair. I think you might like the site. I did.

Does your Aunt Sally make stuff up like you do? I don't recall a single review in which Philip Martin has ever said he has walked out on a movie he was screening much less bragged about it. Not one.

baldie, you lost all credibility when you labeled the Ark. Democrat-Gazette "an otherwise decent newspaper."

That rag hasn't been decent since the parasite DEMOCRAT attached itself to the Gazette banner.

The last Martin column I ever read was one written about 1998 in which he boasted about having walked out on Top Gun.

Let me get this straight. You haven't read a Martin column since 1998?!?

    You call this responsible crticism?

    I call it my opinion.

You. sir, are not an honorable person. All I wanted was a factual correction and you won't even respond to me. Or even post my comments. It's disappointing, to say the least.
