Gmail
August 23, 2007
The other day, somebody complained to me about how much spam they had in their inbox.
I had to stop and think what spam was.
You see, I got my Gmail account in 2004. And I won't say I got my last spam in 2004, but Gmail captures 99.9% of it before it gets to my inbox.
And it mistakenly captures good email perhaps .1% of the time. That means 999 out of a thousand non-spam emails get through.
These figures aren't scientific by any means, but are from my own experience.
The point of all of this is that you can pretty much kiss spam goodbye if you get a Gmail account.
Once invite-only, they appear to now be freely available. If not, send an email to ron.ender@gmail.com and I'll send you one.
Note that I've spent this entire review talking about spam filtering. The other huge benefits of having a Gmail account, such as over two gigs of storage space, having POP access, the slick, functional, ad-light interface, etc. are there too.
