Help a Deserving Child Get a New Kidney

alex.jpgToday’s FamilyFirst site is an opportunity for you to give a little help to someone you’ve never heard of who desperately needs it.

His name is Alex Jones. He’s seven years old (eight in November), and he needs a kidney.

How often does life throw sinking curve balls to good people? More often than we’d like to say. In this case, tragedy has repeatedly struck the Mark Jones family.

Daughter Lindsay received extensive third-degree burns at the age of two. However, she has recovered amazingly well, and is on her way to growing up to be a beautiful young lady.

A case of third-degree burns is plenty of tragedy for one family, right?

Well, when Alex was born, doctors informed his parents that he had end stage renal disease. In other words, his tiny kidneys were not functioning.

What is life like with a kid with end stage renal disease? Surgery after surgery. Doctor after doctor. Praying nonstop. Dialysis in the hospital. Dialysis at home. Changing a tube that comes from his bladder every two hours, including night after night. Traveling to see specialists. And surgery to remove one failed kidney, leaving Alex with just one barely functioning kidney.

Ultimately, it will take a new kidney for this brave young man to survive. And that will take $50,000 that this limited-income family does not have.

You can help. Go to the site below and make a TAX-DEDUCTIBLE donation to the cause of getting Alex a new kidney.

The warm feeling you get will last all day. Guaranteed.
