One of the most difficult tasks facing children growing up today is the use of drugs. The peer pressure that is exerted on them is tremendous, and all too often it leads them down paths that do nothing but devastate their lives, and their families. Today's Family First Site is about an organization that is trying to help change that.
Called Help Your Community, this organization helps to promote the prevention of drug use. It does so by educating children, and giving them positive alternatives. This site is the online presence of the group, and tells how civic and social organizations, law enforcement and health agencies, as well as parents and schools are coming together to make this possible. Here you can find out the organization's mission, and how you can become involved in it.
This is a site with a positive message, one that hopefully will reach our young ones in time. A former First Lady once said it takes a village to raise a child. This site shows how villages can pull together and make it happen.

I believe that this is a bullshit site, cuz i saw your ad on the television. I did not approve, because it advertises children in need, and then when i come to the site it helps parents out that spoil their kids, so you need to figure out your target market cuz u do not have one, and u really suck, in a bad way. no bad language needed for ur incapable site.. thank you for understanding.

YOUR groups RADIO ADS ARE PAINFULLY ANNOYING! PLEASE STOP THEM! THE AD WITH KATIE AND HER DRUM TEACHER SOUNDS LIKE HE IS A MOLESTER, THE MUSIC SAMPLE BITES SUCK, AND WE'VE HAD TO HEAR IT ON TOM LICUS IN THE AFTERNOONS FOR OVER 6+ MONTHS! PLEASE STOP YOUR CRAPPY ADS!!!!!!!!
Trina,
I hear ya. You have every right to be ticked off, it's that side of the spectrum(Affluent Youth)that gets lost or overlooked more times than not. Stay focused and positive, good things will follow shortly. Be Well and Good Luck, Danny
I hear your radio ads about "Katie Jensen" and other
names used for this horrible radio Ad of a young girl with a sexy, husky voice say, "my heart beats, my palms sweat"
What is this? Promoting Drugs?
That's what it sounds like...even having her voice ECHOING to attract to her words, and then saying in a dull, quick voice afterwards that it's an anti-drug Ad.
This kind of Radio Ad makes drugs sound inviting and
encourages kids to wonder about "Why does she sound like she likes that her heart beats and her palms are sweaty" ? Instead of discouraging drug use,it encourages!
What a waste of public dollars...these Radio Ads are nothing but a tool of the devil.

Should you drug test your teen? Will this cause your teens to feel like you are disrespecting them on their "home" turf? Are you ignoring the fact that your teens can get drugs even easier today then ever before?
It's time as a parent to step up to the plate and confront your teens!!!
Drug use and prevention is one of the most frightening discussions you will ever have as a parent with your teen. According to one recent study, teenagers whose parents talk to them on a regular basis about the dangers of drug use are 42 percent less likely to use drugs than those whose parents don't. As difficult as it is to bring up the issue of drug use with your teen, simply talking about drug use may not be enough to fully protect your child from experimenting with and using drugs.
How can this be solved? The answer is simple. In-home drug testing! If your teen knows you have the ability to perform a drug test at home on a moments notice, they are going to be even less likely to experiment with drugs. In-home drug testing can be an extremely powerful deterrent tool in preventing drug use! It becomes an "easy out" to peer pressure as well. Your teen can tell their friends, "No, my parents may drug test me when I get home and I have to be clean or they will ground me... take away my car... wont let me go out..." Isn't this worth providing piece of mind as a parent knowing that your teen is held accountable for their actions?
DrugFreeNetwork.org is a great resource to buy in-home drug testing kits. The drug test kits come with a 10 panel urine drug test, an alcohol test, and a nicotine detection test. These tests are affordable, simple to use, and give accurate results within 5 minutes! One of the best tools in the kit is the contract that parents and the teens sign stating that they live in a "Drug Free" household. Also included in the kit are lists of local resources for counseling and treatment centers as well as a guide to parents which discusses the signs and symptoms of drug use, the many types of illegal drugs, and dangers associated with them.
In addition to using these simple to use drug tests as a deterrent, you could actually save your child's life by identifying a problem with drugs before law enforcement or school personnel intervention or even death!

Im looking to do some coaching in the Niles, IL area.
I tansferred from the University of New Mexico with a Certificate completion in Digital Graphic Design. Before that, I transferred from two other colleges with two Associate Degrees, one in Culinary Arts and the other in Business Concentration. One of the ways I want to put my gained knowledge to good use is by doing community work. Who should I contact? Where in Las Cruces should I look?
