Homeschooling on a Shoestring

Each year, thousands more parents make the decision to homeschool their children. I know. We homeschooled our daughter in her first two grades, and our son with his last two.

There are numerous advantages to homeschooling. For one, YOU, the parent, control the program. There are theories being taught in school that are presented as scientific fact. That rubs many parents the wrong way.

Additionally, you control the pace of your child's learning. In the case of my daughter, she was bored with materials of her grade level, and prospered when using the teaching materials of a grade ahead.

However, many parents are concerned about the cost of a homeschooling curriculum. There are programs available that are expensive, to say the least. But there are also ways for the budget-minded homeschooler's parents to get the job done at a very reasonable cost.

So with that, I present today's FamilyFirst site: Homeschooling on a Shoestring. Here's their mission:

The purpose of this website is to make available ways of cutting costs while homeschooling. We hope this will enable you to save money while maintaining a high quality of education. Some homeschoolers love bargains. Others try to cut costs out of necessity. Regardless of why you want to cut costs, our goal is to help you do the best you can to save money.

Learn about different methods of homeschooling, including Waldorf, Charlotte Mason, the Classical Approach, and Natural Learning.

Also, find out which colleges admit homeschoolers, look into the Home School Legal Defense Association, and check out a Geosafari.

It's informative, and you may learn that YOU can afford homeschooling! Check it out.
