Hope & Homes for Children: A Family and a Future
May 28, 2005

Finding homes for children who have no parents can be very difficult. Finding home for children who are the victims of wars and suffering can be even more difficult. But with the committed work of organizations such as the one that Family First Site visits today, the difficult is becoming reality.
The site is called Hope and Homes for Children. It was created by Mark and Caroline Cook in 1994. After seeing the suffering that had devastated the Balkans, they made it their mission to provide homes and a future for the young victims of war and disaster. They are now celebrating their 10th anniversary. Todate, they have found homes for over 7500 children in 14 countries, and have expanded their work to other countries around the world, such as Sierra Leone and Mozambique. They provide these homes by tracing a child's family, foster care, and creating small family homes that they staff with local staff or foster parents. Their work is paying off wonderfully as these pages show. But there is more to be done, and here you can find out how to help.
The Internet makes it possible to share projects such as this one. It makes it easier to reach out and touch someone's hand. This site shows how one small organization can have an impact on a global level.
