Using our sight is an everyday function that just about all of us takes for granted. But what about people who have lost their sight, either from an accident or due to a natural occurrence. Today's FamSite looks at a website that is a most interesting one that looks at Braille and how it is used to communicate.

The site is called HotBraille.com, and is a site that helps visitors to understand and learn about the Braille language. Here you can send Braille letters, learn about the alphabet, and communicate with others who have an interest in this means for communication. You can send a message to someone in Braille and have it sent for free (which is a very good price). There are some online games that can help teach you this language. You can even see what your name looks like in Braille.

Enjoy your visit to this site. It is an educational and informative site, and shows how the Internet can help to get a message across.

    Dear Sir

I note your website contains a link to hotbraille, the online Braille printing service.

Sadly the service is no more. However, we have recently started offering an online Braille printing service and wondered if you would be so kind to include a link to our site?

Details of our Braille service can be found at www.l-mail.com/goto/braille

    Best wishes,

    Peter

I have a blind niece and years ago I used hotbraille.com to type her letters then your site would braille them for me and send them to her. This was a free service at that time. I know your site has changed some and I dont mind paying for this service at all. Do you still offer this service? Please e-mail me a response. I would be most grateful.
    Lorie
