Ipaq HQ

I recently had to switch the PDA I was using. For the uninformed, PDA stands for Personal Data Assistant, I believe. On it you store information such as names, addresses, schedules, and a variety of other programs and tools. In the past few years, these little gems have increased in processing power and capabilities to the point they can rival a laptop computer. But I have found that once you purchase one, the next best thing you can do is to find a good user group, one that will help you explore the true extent of your new tool/toy, and hopefully not void your warranty.

The site that I found, and is the Family First site today, is called Ipaq HQ. This site is one that highlights the HP/Compaq Ipaq series of PDAs. This site is not associated with, or connected in anyway to the maker of these devices, but is designed and run by everyday users. The members are everyday users as well. The site consists of news releases, reviews, links, tutorials, and (to me) the best part, the forums. I have found the forums a great source of information, both in asking and answering questions from other users. They are divided into for devices, uses, hardware, and software. If you have a problem, post it in the forum and you'll have an answer in a few hours or a few days. I can't speak highly enough of this user-to-user resource.

I used a similar site to this when I used a Palm OS-based Sony Clie as my PDA. Now that I have migrated to the Pocket PC format, I find the same sort of community here as well. There are similar sites to this one, I am sure. But this is the best I have found so far.
