iPods Around the World
March 21, 2005
As anyone who has read this site for a while knows, I like my iPod. As a long time PC/Windows user, it pained me to admit that there was an Apple product that superior to anything in the PC world. In the past couple of months, we have looked at iPod sites that showed how much others enjoyed their iPods, and just how much user and fan support there was for these little packages of entertainment. I have found another site, one that is sort of a sub-site to one we visited before, but it is so interesting, I just had to feature it as the Family First Site of the day.
The site for today is called iPods Around The World. It is part of one of the best iPod user sites (in my opinion that is), the iPodLounge. At this part of the site, you can see just how many locations around the world the iPod has been to. What users do is to take pictures of themselves with their player in front of various buildings, locations, beaches, just about anywhere. There are some interesting pictures here. In fact, there are over 3000 pictures to see. They have been taken on all seven continents, and in just about every tourist attraction. Some are very artistic, using the reflective backside, and some are just plain funny. You can view them randomly, or by location, by date, by top rated, or even search to see where you think they may have been. All models and varieties are represented, with pictures of the new iPod shuffle starting to show up.
This is a fun site to spend some time with. It is truly amazing where people will take their iPods, and what they do with them when they get there. I paid too much for mine to take to some of the places here. All one has to do to get theirs featured is take a picture and submit it to the site. It can be a lot of fun, and judging from the variety of pictures here, loads of people have had a lot of fun already. Hey, it's spring break, take some iPod photos and we'll see them next week.
