Island of Lost Toys
April 10, 2007
While researching GI Joes for an upcoming article at my irememberjfk.com site, I found today's FamilyFirst pick.
The site is called Island of Lost Toys. What blew me away were his articles on GI Joe and Major Matt Mason.
These toys were familiar to any kid who grew up in the 60's or early 70's. GI Joe used to be a foot tall. He was also a fighting man, before that unpopular Vietnam War caused Hasbro to turn him into an “Adventure Team” member, NOT military.
Troy has done a killer job of digging up all sorts of factoids and photos of the two toys so popular with boys. But this site has more to offer than that.
For instance, you can learn a lot about the 1906 San Francisco earthquake, one of the U S's greatest disasters. There are many stunning photos of the destruction segued into QT videos.
It's also a personal site, so there are family photos and such you'll likely enjoy.
So slip on a comfortable pair of slippers, pour yourself a glass of wine, and gently relax and enjoy today's fun, but laid-back FamilyFirst site.
