K Gourmet Teas

kgtlogo.gif'Ow about a spot of tea, then? One thing's for sure. EVERYBODY loves tea! Today's FamilyFirst site celebrates the leaves of the camellia sinensis plant, which is grown in nearly three dozen countries such as India, Sri Lanka, China and Japan.

That's right, I learned that at today's site, K Gourmet Teas.

The site is out to make a buck as an online store, but it also contains a wealth of information about tea. For instance, did you know that drinking tea keeps you young? Note this quote:

“For years, cosmetic companies have been aware of the benefits of tea because of its antioxidant properties that fight free radicals. Free radicals cause the skin to age and sag, besides causing a host of chronic diseases. Research supports that drinking tea reduces the risk of cardiovascular disease, lowers the risk of certain cancers, and is linked with oral and bone health.”

Wow. I think I'll go brew meself a cup of Earl Grey on that.

Learn the ins and outs on how to properly brew tea. I'll tell you up front that these folks would NEVER dream of using a bag! There's only one way to do the job right, according to them, and that's to dump the leaves right in and strain them out after a few minutes. The time varies according to whether the tea is black, green, or herbal.

Between you and me, though? That cup of Earl Grey i just made with a bag tastes pretty good. ;-)

There's more, including recipes, beauty and health tips, and of course a store where you can get the good stuff. Enjoy.
