KidsCom.com

I'm what you call a grizzled veteran. An old fogie. A pioneer.
I first ventured “online” in 1994 via local BBS's (bulletin board services) that allowed me to hook up via my 2400 baud modem and do neat things like chat, download files, and post news. When I upgraded to Windows 95 the next year, I took advantage of its built-in ability to connect to the internet and began exploring the actual WWW.
Needless to say, there have been incredible changes in the Internet over the last 12 years, especially when it comes to kids. From simple games to customized avatars, kids' use of the Internet has evolved tremendously.
KidsCom.com has been there every step of the way, providing a fun and safe place to play online as well as a unique opportunity for youngsters to learn important character traits that aim to help them grow up to become responsible adults. With that, I present it as today's FamilyFirst pick.
In 1995, Jori Clarke started researching how kids would interact with a then-unknown technology: the Internet. When one Fortune 1000 client asked her to create a website for kids, Clarke jumped at the chance. A success story from the beginning, KidsCom.com was born as a fun, educational and safe site for kids.
Visit them today as they celebrate by taking a look at how they have changed over the last twelve years.
