Layer 8
November 13, 2005
Okay, it's time to take a break. A WORK-SAFE break! I'm talking about a fantastic, fun website that is in fact an information technology site. That means if your internet usage is logged and categorized (as mine is [sigh]), you can enjoy today's FamilyFirst site with no fear of bossly consequences!
It's called Layer 8, and it's presented by Networkworld.com, long a staple of great IT information.
Now don't worry, you don't have to be a pocket-protected propeller-head to enjoy this site! It's great at taking what's interesting and funny in the high-tech world and presenting it in plain enough language that your grandma could get it! Of course, maybe your grandma IS a pocket-protected propeller-head, but that's irrelevant . . .
Layer 8's recent entries include references to Lifetime Channel's amazing success with reruns of Golden Girls (and the fact that it's attracting that sought-after 18-to-34 demographic), Google gurus Sergey Brin's and Larry Page's recent purchase of a Boeing 767, and that Microsoft is once again looking at buying AOL.
Make sure you check out the Caption Contest. In fact check out this link, where yours truly actually WON!
So have fun with today's hip, informative, and fun site. Bring your slide rule if you own one, but don't worry if your not a techie. The fun is understood by all.
