Learn English

Okay, today's FamilyFirst site is one of those that requires a lot of imagination from me.

You see, my boss wants a certain amount of content. Yesterday's site on Chicago, the band, was easy. I like Chicago, and had an easy time coming up with plenty to say about them.

But today's site is just so darned simple, there's just not a whole lot you can say about it.

It's aimed at speakers of Hebrew, Spanish, French, and Russian. It's designed to make it easy for speakers of those languages to learn English.

It's called Learn English. The site has an extension of il, which means it's hosted in Israel.

Hebrew being read from right to left, that means your forward and back browser buttons will be reversed.

Okay, okay, I'm kidding!

Anyhow, the premise is simple. Say you are a resident of St. Petersburg (Russia, not Brooklyn South) and would like to learn English. Just select the word in your native language that you would like to learn in English. A quick-loading Flash presentation has the word in English, as well as your own tongue. Click on the word, and you hear it pronounced (assuming you have sound on your computer).

Capisce? Wait, that's Italian. They don't do Italian.

Anyhow, there you have it. And in 229 words!
