Learn Hebrew Verbs
January 19, 2006
Shalom, everyone.
According to the Bible, Abraham's language was the original one given to man. That means Hebrew has been around a long, long time! And I'll bet you don't speak it, do you? Now, is that any way to treat the world's oldest language?
Well, today's FamilyFirst site just might remedy that. It's called Learn Hebrew Verbs.
It's premise is simple enough. It contains a database of three hundred or so verbs in all tenses and genders. You select a verb, tense, gender, and whether it is singular or plural, and just like that, you get the verb presented in Hebrew!
The obvious missing link here is a pronunciation guide. Well, you can learn to recognize the verbs in print, anyway.
You can also learn about some of the ins and outs of this ancient language. I didn't realize that verbs were gender-based, like the Latin languages, among others.
One fascinating facet of the site is the Hebrew link. Click on it and you'll see the site presented in Hebrew, complete with dropdown boxes with navigation on the left side, along with text that goes from right to left! Did you remember that that is how Hebrew is read?
Click on the Help/About link to see links to many other sites that celebrate the Hebrew language and the Jewish culture.
So enjoy today's truly international FamilyFirst site. And remember, don't take any wooden shekels!
