Little Anthony and the Imperials
March 18, 2007
There are a small number of songs that are classic, and timeless. These tunes may have been recorded during a certain era, but they still sound as fresh and compelling as they did the first time you heard them.
Certainly, one of these is Tears on My Pillow, by Little Anthony and the Imperials. As I sat down to write today's FamilyFirst column, I searched the web to see whatever became of the group.
I was quite pleased to learn that they are still alive and kicking, and even touring! So naturally, they became my choice for today's FamilyFirst site.
The site is called LittleAnthonyandtheImperials.com.
The group is still cutting albums, and Little Anthony Gourdine's sweet tenor voice is still in fine form. They recently released a collection of a cappella songs that include such classics as Goodnight Sweetheart, Why Do Fools Fall in Love, and their own Two People in the World. You can listen to five of the tracks in their entirety from the site!
They are also still on the road. Check out their concert schedule to see if they will be near you.
There's a discography of the group as well, and you can order their CD's directly from the site.
There are shards of bands out there, consisting of possibly one original member and a host of recent replacements. It's amazing and wonderful that the REAL Little Anthony and the Imperials are still at it, and still sound sweet.

I have been blown away by this group from the very first time I ever heard them. I only wish they would come to Chicago. I have never been able to see them live. My wish is to see them in person, just once, before I die!!!!
