Live Television from Around the World
August 05, 2006
Here's to the idiot box. The boob tube. The glass-eyed monster.
I'm talking about the TV, friends, and today's FamilyFirst site is dedicated to the media that feeds the box.
Specifically, it's dedicated to streaming audio on the web. It has collected streaming TV from all over the world in one place.
It's called Live Television from Around the World.
It has TV broadcasts listed in thirteen different languages. To view each broadcast, just click on the link! Pretty cool.
I was amazed to see crystal-clear streaming video from SBS Video News from Sydney, Australia. Additionally, the BBC Entertainment feed was nice and smooth, too.
Man, those Brits are sure obsessed with their Big Brother show ;-).
I tried to watch Iranian National TV and my Windows Media Player crashed. Hmm . . . you don't suppose they planted something in there, do you?
Anyhow, get your TV fix even if you're holed up in the middle of nowhere, as long as you have broadband. If you're a Canuck homesick for local news, this site is for you. If you're a Brit on the wrong side of the pond, belly up to the monitor and enjoy the veddy British BBC. And if you're a Chinese vendor stuck in Bentonville, Arkansas wooing Wal-Mart, relax and watch Beijing's CCTV 4.
Yeah, right. You'll be watching decadent CNN in your hotel room!
