Managing Change to Maximize Family Growth and Wellness

Ya know what I love about the internet? That anyone can state their case. I remember when getting your words published required a significant investment. Now? A connection to the web, a few bucks for a domain name, and a web hosting account for a few more.

Today's FamilyFirst site is that of a 57-year-old new father who recently changed careers and became a family counselor, along with his wife. The site's URL is a challenge to anyone wanting to type it in: frazzled-family-finding-change-growth-wellness.com. D'oh! The site's title is a slightly-more-managable Managing Change to Maximize Family Growth and Wellness.

Here's their mission:

“Join the Logan's, Mike, 57, M.S., Julie, 40, L.C.S.W, R.N., Shane, 7, and Hannah Marie, 15 months, as we search out tools useful in sustaining positive emotion. Positive emotion flows from attitudes, beliefs, and behaviors. It does not fall from the sky, rather it must be practiced, even when life presents difficult changes. What are the key components which help parents and children laugh about challenges, while they remember their love?”

There's a lot of good old common sense to be found here, as well as a slight obsession with a product called tea tree oil.

Mike talks a lot about the changes his 57-year-old body is going through. He only has 11 years on me, so I'm paying close attention. He talks about how to age gracefully, something I hope to do.

Learn how to combat Alzheimer's through exercising your brain, how grieving is healthy, and how tea tree oil fixes everything from bad sinuses to athlete's foot.

Here's to the internet, and to fun, slightly zany sites like this one.
