MyBloop
November 14, 2008
I once made a colossal boo-boo.
I managed to delete multiple backed-up archives of about 200 Word docs.
These particular Word docs were my original freelanced articles, short subjects, and other works that I created in the mid 90's.
They were precious to me, and quite irreplaceable.
I have paper copies of many of them, in the form of the publications which printed them and sent me copies.
But that's still a small percentage of many, many hours of creative work.
Had today's FamilyFirst pick, MyBloop, existed a few years ago, my long-lost documents would be safe.
MyBloop allows unlimited free storage of your files. No kidding!
You can upload absolutely anything you want, even copyrighted material. The only gotcha is that you need to mark the copyrighted material "private" so that it can't be shared with others.
Rest assured, i'll mark EVERYTHING I upload as private.
Anyhow, caveat emptor. Don't upload anything REALLY private unless you encrypt it.
And needless to say, illegal stuff is forbidden as well.
With those notices given, get yourself a free account and start backing up your stuff today!

This article starts on the right note giving a personal angle to a serious problem of permanently backing up data (sic). Unfortunately as we know all too well online hosts come and go making lasting and secure storage just wishful thinking. Instead of coming up with promotion pitches and selling ploys to entice customers just spend more time improving your services and finding stable long lasting solutions for media storage.
If you do that then promotion considerations will not be an issue... for this article I give it a 3 for nice advert.
