Neil Young Announces His "Newest" Realease
May 09, 2008
Neil Young. How privileged every generation is that has experienced him.
I hate to write anything about him, because i have featured him innumerable times in selecting FamilyFirst sites over the many years that i have been doing this gig.
But I was just made aware of this particular announcement, so it's here, a few days after the actual fact.
Neil has just announced the release of his life's work on Blu-Ray, in state-of-the-art video and sound quality.
But, as the Ginsu knife commercials say, there's more!
Neil shows, at the end of this presentation, a concept that could change the music industry.
Imagine paying a fee for the LIFETIME output of an artist.
In Neil's case, he's in his 60's, I hope he keeps rockin' for many, many more years. But the multimedia scenario he paints here provides the owner of his multimedia offering the right to download additions as the artist releases new material.
That's profound. Instead of shelling out money every time Neil releases a new album, you simply spring for his lifetime work, then download each new addition.
Let me tell you, the cost would likely be in the hundreds of dollars, but would be one whale of an investment.
Neil Young, you are a genius on many levels.
