In years past, automobiles were not always made of metal. They have been made of plastics, canvas, and even wood. In fact, during World War II, when metal was needed for national defense, the wooden car became very popular, and that popularity continues even today. The Family First Site looks at a site that features that very popular mode of transportation.

Called Old Woodies, this site is about a car that was made of wood. The Beach Boys and other surf groups sang about them, surfers used them to haul their surfboards. But they were a symbol of our culture. This site tells everything you would want to know about them, and allows one to share their love of those cars with others who have the same interests. There are pictures of classic cars, resources for parts and repairs to the cars, books on them, publications, and links to other sites. In short, there is enough information here on wood to make a termite happy.

So stop on over, and take a nostalgic trip down memory lane. This is on site that has fun written all over it.

Wow, those were the days. Glad I stopped by to remember them. Actually, I needed some of the history for a short entry in my fictional time travel novel "Amelia's Voice." Thanks again.
