Our Gang Online
April 08, 1999
We all grew up with them, from our great-grandparents, to our children. Their theme song is very recognizable. They have become icons of a time of innocence, when being a kid meant camping in the backyard, hanging out at the local fishing hole, or playing hooky from school. I am talking about the Little Rascals, or as they are also known, Our Gang.
The FamSite today takes a look at a site that has been loving crafted and created as a means of preserving the memory of this series of short films that were made from 1922 to 1944, and have been in circulation ever since. Spanky, Alfalfa, Darla, Mickey, Joe, Johnny, and Farina are all here, as is just about every other gang member. There is a complete filmography, as well as photos and sound galore. There are several special attractions, such as an online quiz, and a copy of a 1929 book featuring the gang.
This is an excellent site, one that has nostalgia written all over it. It reaches back to a time when belonging to a gang was fun, and a non-threatening way to make friends. It really makes one wish for the good old days.
