Own a Piece of America

I've owned my own house sine 1985. It's a good feeling knowing that you have a legal claim to a piece of this world, even if it's only a city lot.

Unfortunately, the dream of owning real estate is beyond many of us. Land costs are simply out of reach for a large percentage of the population in many areas of the US.

Well, perhaps not all hope is lost.

Today's FamilyFirst site offers the opportunity for you to own a square inch of land in any or all states of the union!

It's called Own a Piece of America. And yes, they're out to make a buck, but their price is reasonable, and you get what you pay for. If you read the fine print, you discover that:

You can't live on your square inch of land, or develop it.
You can't sell your deed at a profit.
You must grant ingress and egress over the property.

On the positive side, you aren't responsible for taxes on your square inch. A square inch in California is probably taxed at at least fifty bucks a year ;-).

For as little as $3.95, you can claim your square inch of land in a single state. The ultimate gift? A square inch in all 50 states, along with a deed on a plaque imprinted with your name a a land booklet.

Hey, it's that time of year when funky gifts are sought after. And you can't get much funkier than affordable land in all 60 states.
