Giving to charity is a personal choice. Deciding on what to give, how much to give, and when to give are difficult choices we all face. Ensuring that your dollars go to where you want them to is another concern. Today's Family First Site is an interesting one that is changing how we cannot only donate to our specific concerns, but research them at the same time.

Called shine!, this site is an online organization that helps individuals and companies determine which charities they want to support, and then make a donation. Here you find news and features about causes and people, and find out how you can become involved. Currently, Students from across the nation are going to unite and STANDFast to help the people suffering from ethnic cleansing in Darfur, Sudan. Students are going to give something up - fast - in order to reflect on both their opportunities and the moral tragedy that plagues Darfur. There is a guide to over 650,000 IRS-registered non-profit organizations listed here in a browse able fashion. There are several unique ways to help raise funds, such as creating an i-shine! page, and shopping at merchants who donate a portion of their proceeds to charity.

There is quite a bit of information at this site, and it can take some time to explore it and find out what is best for you. But it is a worthwhile task. Enjoy your stop here today, and share this site with a friend. Here you can have a chance to not only act locally, but globally as well.
