Stolen Honor: Wounds That Never Heal

One issue that has become a central focus in the current Presidential election is the use of military force, and whether it was appropriate or not. One candidate states that he took the actions that he did because of the information that he had made him believe that failure to act would put our nation in more danger than it was. The other candidate claims that while military action may or may not have been appropriate, he is the better one to lead our nation to victory. His credentials, he claims, is his previous military service. Today's Family First site is one that does not explore his military record, but his postwar collaboration with the enemy that we were fighting, and the suffering and hardships that these actions not only caused our troops and prisoners-of-war, but also our nation.

The site is called "Stolen Honor: Wounds That Never Heal". This is the website that provides background information on the testimony that John Kerry gave when he appeared before the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee in 1971. These remarks, which have been proven to be untrue, caused many of our soldiers and sailors who were POWs to suffer at the hands of their captors. You will hear it from their own voices, not "dramatizations", not recreations, not Hollywood superstars reading them. You will hear the people who suffered from his actions. It is small wonder why Vietnam veterans (of whom I am one) hold Mr. Kerry in such contempt. His testimony, and later meetings with the North Vietnam peace delegation in Paris openly show his contempt for the the military and for his country.

But, perhaps, more than any living group of combat veterans, it was the America ’s POWs who suffered most, forced to endure the immediate consequences of Kerry’s treacherous falsehoods. In 1971, some 700 of these men were reported as captured or missing in action, most presumed held prisoner by the North Vietnamese Communists in such places as the notorious Hanoi Hilton. Already subjected to years of torture, solitary confinement and unspeakable psychological and physical abuse, their lives were literally hanging by a thread when Kerry issued his damning testimony. In mere moments, Kerry had willingly given the Vietnamese Communists what they had spent years of torture and blood-letting to drag out of their American hostages, an unqualified “confession” they were all war criminals.

Stolen Honor: Wounds that Never Heal is a political hot potato as of this writing due to the fact that Sinclair Communications is planning on airing the entire documentary on all sixty-two of their networks October 21-24, 2004, during prime time. If you are interested in viewing the program, check your local listings to see when it will be airing near you.

Whatever our nation decides on election day, the character of the man who will lead our nation should be beyond reproach. You have to ask yourself is this the sort of man that you want leading our nation? The answer you decide on will not only show your true feelings, but can also show the world the type of nation we are.

It is time for John Kerry to explain the circumstances of his dishonerable discharge from the military. Should the Commander in Chief of the most powerful military in the world keep such a fact hidden from the American people?

It seems very strange that those who seem to support Kerry's right to express his views about the behavior of other vets in a televised public forum, are unwilling to afford the same privilege to some of those other vets in expressing their views about him.

John Kerry demands a full accounting of George W. Bush's military record, yet he still refuses to sign the DD Standard Form 180 that will release his records. The ONLY excuse for this is that he is trying to hide something. If he served as honorably as he claims, then this should big plus for him. His continued silence on it only highlights his hyprocrisy and lack of character to lead not only our military, but our nation as well.

Come on, John, sign the form and quit hiding the truth from the American people.

Wow, like George W. Bush doesn't have many questionable issues concerning him. Not even elected by the people of the United States through popular vote, using "daddy" and his money to avoid "serving his country" and misleading the American people about the war in Iraq, to mention only a few. I will proudly support John Kerry on Election day!!!!!

Read your history! The popular vote has never elected a President in the country - ever. It has always been the electoral college. Last I looked, GW has an honorable discharge, and Kerry has one that is suspect since it was granted six years after he was discharged. If the GW is so misleading the country on the war, why does John Kerry have no intention on changing how the war is being fougt? Suggest you do a little more studying on what exactly he stands for.

This work has already been proved to be a fake. The people in the movie aren't even real people who were there. Bush has plenty of skeletons and has been proven to be a liar about the war. I find the prospect of another 4 years of Bush Cheney actually frightening.

Is it true that the swift boties and stolen honor troopies have no problem with the fact that W hid in the guard so he wouldn't have to defend his country in VietNam. The man who got W into the guard lives here in Texas and is ashamed of helping to hide W and other Republican young men so they wouldn't have to defend their country. We won't go into what W was doing all those years he was hiding from defending his country. The swifties and stolen honor troopies are real sloppy in their choice of charges and facts. I hope lots of undecideds have more honor than the swifties or W.

It is sad that a site that would propose to honor "FAMILY FIRST" would encourage it's visitors to watch a blatant propeganda piece that is the work of political hacks. During that war American Families had the right to know what atrocities were truly being done in their name by our military. War is hell and as one who witnessed it there are dehumanizing things that I can not forget 45 years later. Blaming John Kerry's testimony before the congress for extending the war and causing POW's to be treated more harshly would be like blaming GW's mid east excursion into Iraq for any subsequent terorist activities. Are you willing to put that responsibility on his shoulders? In war the enemy ALWAYS commits cruel and inhuman acts. The only problem is that in war EVERYONE is someone's enemy. We must teach all of our families that war is the LAST alternative because once it is begun it dehumanizes all of it's participants. I may not vote Kerry But I sure as heck WILL NEVER AGAIN VOTE for BUSH!

    Jerry,

First off, thank you for your service to our country. I'm not sure if anyone had thanked for you doing what you did, but it is appreciated. I don't disagree with your comments on war, they are very accurate.

What I find disturbing about John Kerry's comments in this film is that he paints himself as the saviour to the world at the expense of other servicemen he served with. I feel for him as I feel for Jane Fonda when she went to Vietnam and sat in an anit-aircraft gun emplacement and uttered those famous words "Hope you get one tonight", the operative word being "one", which represented US servicemen. I feel that he has outright lied to the American people about his service, that he has changed it to suit whatever way the political winds blow, and that calls his character into question. If he is so honorable in his service, why won't he sign the DD Standard Form 180 and open up his records to examination by everyone, the way he wants George Bush to do? Is it because he is hiding something? Like maybe he has a less-than-honorable discharge? After all, his military obligation ended in 1972. Yet he did not receive his honorable discharge until 1978, six years later and then only after a review by an examining board of officers. Why is that? I left with my discharge in hand the day I got out. But then mine was an honorable on. What was his?

This movie goes beyond the Vietnam war. It goes to the very character of the man who wants to be the leader of the strongest nation on Earth. In my opinion, electing him would make us one of the weakest.

I came to this country and wonder about some people that live in America. I see the movies about the war and it was a difficult war. The military fought a war that was made difficult by people like Joh Kerry. Everytime I hear this man talk I get sick and I pray that God punishes him for his sins against the vets of vietnam. I pray for my friends of that war and I cry for them because John Kerry has done more to hurt them, then anyone American. I also pray that after the elections, Joh Kerry and jane Fonda will go to jail for betraying America during the 70's. But I tell my American friends that people like John Kerry would not have been treated the same way in other countries. Him and the coward Jane Fonda would have been killed by the people for hurting the society so badly. Here in America, they call Jane Fonda a Hero that fights for woman and Kerry a man of the people. They both made money from the blood of many good Americans. This angers me and I know God will punish them for their sins. Kerry and others like him will see justice in the end days and the people he hurt will see justice come down on the true enemy of America's head. Kerry please stop you train of false facts and start paying back to the vets for all that you have done to them. IT is time for Kerry and Fonda to help heal the wounds that they brought to the vets of America. I pray that the vets wounds do heal and we learn from the mistakes done during the war. We must totally respect our troops and support them no matter the cost. Our troops protect us and we must protect them. I want to thank all our miltary and my friends that fought for our country. You helped me to see that serving our country in the military is a good thing for anyone to do. I was so proud of the soliders that fought during that war that I joined the military(USMC). I saw the movie Full Metal Jacket the day before I left to the USMC. My friends hoped it would scare me and prevent me from joining, but it brought out pride for the men of honor. They fought for our country and it made me want to follow them. Everyday I go to the va hospital, I see men of honor and I thank God for them. I see someone that I wish I can grow old to be like one day. Thanks to all who fought for me.
    May God bless you
    Moses

It really doesn't matter because the democrats have enough lawyers in every state to bring suit if the vote is not in Kerry/Edwards/Heinz favor.
Then Kerry/Hienz will send a case of their "CatSoup" to everyone and we can continue to give America away; but they had better hurry because their wasn't much left after Bill/Hillary finished with it.
