Everybody loves Top Ten lists. David Letterman has practically made a living out of them.
Well, today's FamilyFirst pick is a top ten list for great health.
It's called 10 great health foods: Best bets for eating well. The list of ten great foods for health comes from a great source: the Mayo Clinic.
The ten foods meet the following criteria:
* Are a good or excellent source of fiber, vitamins, minerals and other nutrients
* Are high in phytonutrients and antioxidant compounds, such as vitamins A and E and beta carotene
* May help reduce the risk of heart disease and other health conditions
* Are low in calorie density, meaning you get a larger portion size with a fewer number of calories
* Are readily available
The list includes apples, blueberries, red beans, broccoli, and other delicious foods that will go a long way towards helping you get and keep good health.
