The Exposition of the Sindone

What, you are probably asking, is a Sindone? Who is the Sindone? Where is the Sindone? I am sure that at some point in your life, you have heard of it, or about it. But if you are wondering, then read on.

The Exposition of the Sindone is a display in Italy of the Shroud of Turin. Here you can visit one of the most mysterious and revered treasures of early Christianity. The legend of the Shroud is that it is the sheet that Jesus Christ was wrapped in after His crucifixion and being raised from the dead. It is one of the most holy of artifacts of the Christian religion, an actual tie to the Saviour. The exposition of the Shroud interests the whole Christian community of Turin, as the host, and the Church in pilgrimage. They present a pastoral itinerary focused upon contemplation of the image impressed on the Shroud's linen, a path which isn't limited to the period of the exposition.

Here at this site you can visit the exhibit, view the Shroud, find out about some of the scientific research that has been done on it, and some of the historical and religious significance of it. There are several ways to view its history. You can take the Biblical route, the Pastoral route, and for the young visitors, a route just for children. There is information on the restoration that took place in 2002, including further documentation on linen.

The Shroud of Turin will continue to amaze and mystify the world. But here at this site, you can be amazed without leaving the comfort of your own living room.
