The Historical Area of the Battle of Normandy

It was 54 years ago this day that the single greatest invasion occurred. It was the landing of the allied forces on the beaches of Normandy in France. It was, to paraphrase Winston Churchill, "...the beginning of the end".

Here at today's Family Site, you can visit through the miracle of cyberspace the area where that battle took place, as well as visiting the museum. There have been millions of words written about this battle, both the leading up to it, and the following events. I won't try to explain it here. Just enjoy the site, enjoy the exhibits, and remember the men that were in the event. They are the heroes of this page.
