The International Space Station
June 25, 2007
The International Space Station has been inhabited since February of 2004.
And it's big, and bright enough to spotted from backyards all over the world.
And, so far, it's been a refreshing shot in the arm for a space program that has seen more than its share of failure and tragedy.
Today's FamilyFirst site is NASA's official site of the International Space Station.
It's loaded with news, illustrations, movies, and, coolest of all, Skywatch.
Skywatch is a Java applet (that works FLAWLESSLY with Firefox and Ubuntu Linux) that lets you see when the next pass over your area will be. You type in a zip code, and after it churns a bit, it will give you the time and date of the next pass that will be visible to you!
It also pops up a star map so you can see the exact path.
So pop into today's FamilyFirst site, read all about the ISS, and check out the next time you can see it!
