The Jimmy Carter Library
November 28, 1998
We continue our tours of presidential libraries today by visiting one in the southern part of our nation, in the state of Georgia. It is the Library and Museum of President James Earl Carter, or as he is most fondly remembered, Jimmy.
Located in Atlanta, this is the official repository of the records of the Carter Administration. Here you can view selected oral transcripts, photographs, and other records. There is information on using the library for research, as well as a special section for children where the information is presented at their educational level. There is information on the Carter Center, a non-profit policy institute dedicated to fighting disease, hunger, poverty, conflict, and oppression through collaborative initiatives in the areas of democratization and development, global health, and urban revitalization. The information contained here is well organized, and a pleasure to view.
President Carter's reputation has increased significantly after his term of office expired. His involvement with Habitat for Humanity, as well as his special undertakings for the US government, have earned him more respect than he had in office. Given the state of the Executive branch of our government today, I wonder if he would consider running again.

Dear President and Mrs. Carter:
How about providing help to our Native Americans
living on an Indian Reservation. We lived in Page,
Az. surrounded
by the Navajo Reservation. You would not believe the
drunken driving deaths, shootings, rape etc that go on
in the Reservation. They don't even have to have car
insurance while driving on the reservation, although
major U.S. highways pass through.
Most people are not aware of the tragedies that
occur daily on the reservation. The Native Americans
seem to think this is "just the way of life". Most
families have lost a loved one.
Thank you,

I'm just trying to advise President Carter that his roommate at the Naval Academy, Lou Larcombe has passed away. Whoever reads this, could you please advise Mr. Carter. Feel free to contact me for further information.
Thank you
I've tried to remember Jimmy Carter and his wife are good, well intentioned people .... that even though he will probably be remembered as the very worst President in our history, he has done good deeds and that it would be best to leave him in peace. No more .... Mr. Carter, in my opinion, has revealed himself to be a bitter, old man .... with no more pride or thought for our country and his once honored position than the airheads of Hollywood who make their living by pretending. His latest comments, while abroad prove him to be an evil, mindless, egotistical has been. He should be grateful I have nothing to do with the government as I would have him brought up on charges of treason.... sedition at the very latest. Crawl back into your hole you worm, Mr. Carter.
Mr. Carter Support naval bases in Georgia or move to New England.
This message is for former President Jimmy Carter.

Mr. Carter :
You were a disgrace as the President of the United States, in my opinion the WORST ever. Add what you did today, after you used Mrs. King's funeral to voice your political views against a wonderful President it solidified my thought on how much of a buffoon your were and still are.
Just go away.
You and the rest of your Democrat/Liberals are nothing but a laughing stock, keep it up, I love being part of the party in control.
Keep up the good work, Michael A. Nowicki
Mr. Carter (I have a problem addressing you as Mr. President),
I cannot believe how ashamed I am of a former President who uses his privileged status to rundown the existing President on an occasion where it is completely inappropriate to do so. With the harm you are causing our country in a time of war I would hope that your anti-America agenda will become known to all and that you will once and forever be known for the fool that you are.
Mr. Carter - I was looking for an email address to contact your office to express my complete disgust with your performance at Ms King's funeral. Using this forum to express your political views was the most disgusting display I have seen in a long time. After finding this site, I was pleased to read the correspondence from Mike and Richard above that told it like it is. Again, it was disgusting and stupid display and you should be ashame of yourself.
I agree with the former posts here. Your comments at the King funeral were beyond inappropriate. As were your remarks in France and other places just about everytime you open your mouth. Your remarks not only make us look like fools around the world, but they are utterly unamerican. Friends with Hamas indeed!! Are you crazy? Try to remember you are not the president anymore. Stay home and grow peanuts. Oh yes..one other thing. Dont go around calling yourself a christian....your behavior belies that.
Mr. Carter you are a disgrace. To use the funeral of Mrs. King to criticize the President was unforgivable. You should apologize to him and the nation. There is a time and a place for everything, that was not the time for your comments! I am truly disgusted.
Leslie Burcham
Thank you so much for your extremely inappropriate political comments made at a MEMORIAL SERVICE (hello!?!) of a fine lady. Your lack of class has not gone unnoticed. You have brought the respect to former presidents to an all time low! You had your chance, it's over - now it is time for you to back off!
I am apalled at your behavior at Coretta King's funeral. Your comments were inappropriate for such a solemn occasion. And as for your calling attention to the wiretappings--isn't that the pot calling the kettle black? I have long considered you a Southern gentleman; obviously you are not.
Poor Mr. Carter,
Apparently you did not pray first, before you presented those self serving words at Coretta King's funeral. Every time you open your mouth it proves how empty and desparate you are to prove somehow that you are important to someone.
Your irresponsible words cast a cloud over your "good works", the motivation for which must be to get praise and adulation for yourself, rather than to help others.
Very sad.
Dear Mr. Carter,
I wanted to write and tell you how disappointed I was regarding your behavior at the funeral for Mrs. King the other day. First, it was shameful to use a memorial service as a political platform. Second, you demonstrated a total lack of class and character for attempting to embarrass a fellow president in that forum. How would you have felt if the tables were turned. And third, you claim to be a believer in the Lord and instead act like the "accuser of the brethren".
Many of us would like to at least respect you because of the fact that you were a former president of our great country. You should be ashamed because you judge others when your own presidential performance was a failure in every way and a major embarrassment to our country.
Please return to the honorable and quiet work you have been doing (habitat for humanity) and stop the public speaking that serves only to bring further scorn upon your name.
Regards,
Everett P. Perkins, Jr.
Alpharetta, GA
What little respect I have ever had for you has vanished with your disgraceful comments at a MEMORIAL SERVICE!!!?? As a native Georgian and proud (retired) member of Special Operations for 22 years I feel obligated to make the following observation and request: Observation- You continue to disgrace the great state of Georgia. You continue to put our troops last with your careless actions and words. In office you cut our military funding and sent us into Iran (Desert 1) totally un-prepared. You continue to put our troops in harm's way by showing radicals that our house is divided. Request: Stay out of politics and know when and where to make comments. Don't they send Navy officers to charm school!?
Shame! What a self-serving thing to do. The President continues to act in the best interest of the country, something you were never able to achieve. Christian, my eye. What a disservice to Dr. and Mrs. King!
Dear President Carter,
I have always loved the person you are. You are kind and thoughtful. I heard today that you agree with President Bush about a guest worker amnesty program. That shocked me. Our nation must enforce our laws and secure our borders. To allow the illegal aliens to remain and continue reaping the benefits of our society rewards lawlessness. You said that the illegals are good hardworking people. Some are. I can tell that you donot live in Arizona. This state is flooded with Hispanic welfare cheats, drug dealers, gang members, child molesters. Our prisons are overflowing with of convicted illegals. The State is being fined for failure to teach English to the children of illegals. This has nothing to do with racism. I am of mixed race, and have a member of my family who is Hispanic. Many of my legal Hispanic friends feel as I do. Arizona, and much of the United States is under a hostile seige. We are being overrun with foreigners who are demanding full legalization and open borders. If they are allowed Social Security, welfare, and the right to vote, they will take over the government. Please do not support the catastropic amnesty the Senate passed today. It will bankrupt the nation!
Stay healthy, and enjoy your life. But please reconsider the illegal alien amnesty crisis. Thank you.
Dear President Carter,
While many considered you a bad president, I saw you as a good president in a bad situation. Except for circumstances, your presidency was at least as good as others in your time, with the exception of letting the hoard of Cubans into Florida, and ruining its economy.
Since the presidency, you have shown courage to stand for human rights and for proclaiming your great Baptist heritage. Unfortunately, now you speak non-sense in the interest of stopping wars. Your own statements indicate the fact that Israel's trading of hostages has NEVER worked. Yet, you now tell them to release the worst of criminals (plus questionable women and children) in the interest of ending the current war.
All I can say is "I'm ashamed of you".
JIMMY CARTER: ISRAEL BASHER
Former President Jimmy Carter has weighed in on Israel's war with Hezbollah, and his position really shouldn't come as a surprise. Carter says the situation in the Middle East has now gotten worse, thanks to the Bush Administration's support of Israel in its attack on Hezbollah.
But that's not how Jimmy phrased it. He said "...the concerns I exposed have gotten even worse now with the United States supporting and encouraging Israel in its unjustified attack on Lebanon." That's right, the attack on Lebanon. Not Hezbollah. This is significant, and is spoken exactly the way the Islamic terrorists want it.
Hezbollah won the propaganda war in its conflict with Israel because of this small detail. They were able to portray, along with the help of a willing mainstream media, that Israel was attacking poor, innocent Lebanon. The fact that Israel was going after the Islamic terrorist killers of Hezbollah, who happened to be in Lebanon...well that's just a small, insignificant detail.
But Carter wasn't done there...when asked about the current administration, he couldn't resist a little Bush-bashing. He claims that the United States permitted torture to take place at Guantanamo Bay and Abu Ghraib. He also continued to recite the fantasy that the Bush Administration ever said that anyone who doesn't agree with them isn't patriotic.
As you read this ...or listen to this .... remember: It as Jimmy Carter who almost single-handedly destroyed our intelligence-gathering capabilities when he was president. It is no stretch to say that if Carter had never been president 9/11 might not have happened, such was the extent of his decimation of our intelligence services.
Same old Jimmy Carter. Some things never change. Too bad the former president wasn't asked about the fact that Islamic terrorism was born on his watch.

This was from the Boortz site, and being fom what was the Panama Canal Zone, Mr. Boortz and millions of Americans know it is right on target.
Mr Carter : My greatest shame is that I voted for you. You have shown yourself to be an egotist who believes in only your own views. You continue to hurt America and its people in every one of your actions lately. I nominate you for the "Jane Fonda" of 2006 award.
I made two mistakes in my life. The first was voting for you. But hey keep up the good work, everytime you open your mouth reminds us of why Republicans are in office.
Mr. Carter,
When you were elected President, I was elated. You were the first born again Christian elected to that high office. I followed your Presidency with interest, and have continued, over the decades to be pleased at some of the Christian positions you have taken. I have been delighted with your focus on Habitat for Humanity, and only wished there was a way for me to participate.
Therefore, it is with heavy heart that I must express my disappointment in many of your other positions. Your political speech at the King funeral was inappropriate, uncalled for and beneath the dignity of your former office.
However, your latest statements about Donald Rumsfeld, a sitting Secretary of Defense during a time of war, are tantamount to treasonous.
Mr. Carter, I'm not one who is rabidly blind to your good works, or one who is unwilling to acknowledge your assets and contributions. However, your other statements and behaviors have become so outrageous I have now become ashamed of your complete lack of judgment, and inability to control your statements.
I do not wish to become personally insulting to you, but I must do nothing less than totally reject your recent forrays back into the political scene.
I just wish you would regain your sense of propriety and recognize that the current administration is the one the good people of this country have elected. You had your chance. After you put forward your best efforts, this nation rejected your views, your approach and your leadership. Mr. Carter, please, focus yourself on the things where you have the ability to make appropriate contributions, and refrain from comments that are beneath your dignity.
Mr. Carter ~
Please continue to do good humanitarian work; please help to build houses, save whales, and whatever causes you wish to support. But please do so with YOUR MOUTH SHUT! Your bully pulpit is long-since gone and your recent outlandish outbursts bring discredit to you, your family, and your Democratic party. You must live with whatever legacy you have built. Leave the political tirades to those who actually have a hand in today's politics. Your rants just make you look like a bitter, rejected and sad old man.
Does anyone have a personal email address or some other way i can get in touch with Mr. Carter. I actually have something good to say to him, and some questions i would like to ask. Mr. Carter, if you read this, please email me back or try and get in touch with me, it is nothing bad, but rather only good things i promise. Thanks
Dear Mr. Carter,
I hope this letter actually reaches you personally. If not, I pray God reveals these things to you. You say you are man of God, trying to do good by works., You are gloryifing only yourself. You are always on the side of murderous dictators and those who justify sin. (abortion, gay marriage, slothfulness, thiefs, terrorist…) It’s as if you don’t see the big picture. Your eyes have scales on them. Yes Jesus walked with them, but never once justified there sins & didn’t tell them to stop sinning & repent.
You constantly slander President Bush. You know he is a man of God. Flawed? yes, as we all are. Yes he makes mistakes, as we all do. The fact that I voted for you years ago makes me sick. I heard you speak of God & bought into your lies. I was a new Christian and apparently did not pray about it enough.
Remember what happened to King Nebuchadnezzar? He became as the animals of the field for 7 years because he did not humble himself before God. I don’t know if you ever were really a believer in Christ, but if you were, you know God will eventually humble you even though the world raises you up.
You’re getting old & will probably meet your maker soon. I pray you open your eyes to God’s truth & see the damage you are doing not only to one of God’s children, but also to the only party who does not condone sin. Yes, were all sinners, but we hate that sin. We don’t tell the world you must not only condone our sin, but you must teach your children these sins are good.
Please, just open your heart to God & ask Him to show you what is true. Yes, you must face the world today, but you must face God for eternity.
Love in Christ,
Linda Sandoval
Jimmy carter will go down in history as our very worst president---he should also be brought up on treason charges!!!
Jimmy Carter, as a Submarine Veteran of the sixties, I find it disgusting that the USN name a submarine after you. You have really gone off the deep end if you think your "Foreign Affairs" activities are something to be proud of. You were a gutless President, and you should just keep your idiotic comments to yourself if you want to maintain any respectability.
I agree with those who call you one of the worst Presidents in our history. Now, except for your work with Habitat for Humanity, you show yourself continually to be THE worst ex-President, with your comments on the Israeli Palestinian situation.
You only need to remember one quote about that awful part of the world, which speaks volumes:
If the Arabs put down their weapons today there would be no more violence.
If the Jews put down their weapons today there would be no more Israel.
Wake up, sir!
Mr. Carter.
Your comments about Israel and the war in Lebanon, show one of two things. You either have no idea AT ALL of the history of the regionand it's [politics, or you completely lack any sense of justice.I would like to think that the former is the case.Consider these facts. The hizbalah is a terrorist organiztion, supported by Syria and Iran, both are no angels, as we all know. They have attacked Israel for years, on a continued basis, launching rockets into israel from Lebanon, attacking Israel from Lebanon etc. The kidnapping of the Israeli soldiers was the last straw that broke the camal's back. Lebanon, not only did not try to stop Hizbalah, they elected three of them to their parliment, and many expressed support for the Hizbalah, even though they are,in fact, an indipendent government within lebanon, completely separeted from the Lebanese government. More over, like all terrorists, the Hizbalah operates from among the civilian population, using the civilians as shields. In order to try and stop all the thousands of rockets fired from among the civilian Lebanese, Israel had to conduct the heavy bombing of Lebanon.
It will be of benefit to you, if you would first study the subject matter, at least some, before opening your big mouth and say nonsens. It does not become an ex-president. You really put us ALL to shame, since we elected you into office(What a mistake). Try to ACT like a smart person !!!
Dear Jimmy,
You were a huge mistake as our President and now you are just a huge joke. Why don't you just stay in Georgia, keep you mouth shut and pound some nails into wood building houses for the rest of your life as penance for being such a wretched old man. By the way are you anti-semitic, anit-Israel or just an in-bred dope.
So I read Jimmy Carter's book
Our Endangered Values: America's Moral Crisis.
I agree that all extremism has its danger. He supports some sort of civil union for same sex couples, and give the same rights as couples of different gender. But here he fails to address the real issue: Should same sex couples be able to adopt or have two same gender legals gaurdians. I just don't think children growing up with same sex couple as 'parents' is a good idea, same as I don't think it is a good idea for children to grow up in households which are chaotic, violent, drug infested etc..
There is a very slippery slope with civil unions, and the topic of children should be the primary topic when addressing this issue. He seems to have forgotten that protection of children and the helpless is one of the primary responsibilities of a healthy society.
Jimmy Carter should re-issue the chapter and really the publisher should have picked that up.
I happened into this web page by mistake. Boy what a sorry group of people. A man with morals speaks out against those that don't know the meaning of the word, and all the Fox watchers jum on him!
Long live Jimmy Carter, Long live a free Palestine!
Amen.

Sir (Jimmy Carter), I have always been an ardent admirer of yours. Now I read that you have accepted vast amounts of Arab money and feel this might have influenced your latest book. Can This possibly be true. Please be so kind as to make a public statement regarding this matter. Thank You
Mr. Carter
I have meet yo before and I'm sure you do not remember me, but I remember you. I'm currently taking AP Goverment in my high school. I was praying and hoping that you would please come and speak to my class. I have always admired you and your my mother's hero. I live in Colorado and I'm willing to do anything to have you coem adn speak to my class. I will do fundraisers or whatever it takes and we have a lot of flexibility on time so please contact me

Mr. President, I read your latest book "Peace not Apartheid" and was very impressed that finally one of our Presidents had the courage to tell the truth about what is going on between Israel and Palastine. But then, a few days ago, I was very disappointed that you apologized to the Israelis.
Why is it that we can criticize every other country in this world but cannot do the same with Israel?
My husband was on the US Liberty when it was attacked by Israel in June of 1967. Up to this date, there has never been a congressional investigation why the ship was attacked. Many reports have been done by various TV Channels. But when it comes close to being shown on TV, the Israelis put pressure on the media and the shows are cancelled.
It is sickening to me, that the Israelis are so powerful in this country, that only their side of a story is told. Every person is afraid of being called an "anti-semite" you included.
My husband is a retired Secret Service Agent and fondly remembers your fishing trips to State College, Pa.
Please keep up the good work, Mr. President!
Ingrid Painter
Dear Mr. Carter, You are worse than David Duke. You mask your anti-semitism with a compassionate facade, whereas Mr. Duke admits his prejudice. The damage you have done is immeasurable, evidenced by the response of Ingrid Painter. Your alleged facts of the situation between the Israelis and Palestinians is based upon your revision of historical facts. Please for the sake of peace, disappear.
Mr.President
You have my vote. Have you read One nation under Israel? People who want the truth should read it along with your fine book.
Dear Mr. President:
I continue to be moved by your amazing commitment to bettering the world we live in. Your book "Palestine: Peace not Apartheid" reminds me of "The Lemon Tree" by Sandy Tolan. Back when I was a young adult and knew almost nothing about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, the Palestinians seemed oppressed to me: they live in refugee camps, they have no cohesive stable government, and yet our media and government stigmatized them as terrorists. The more I read over the years, the more horrified I have become about the plight of the Palestinians. I am saddened by our nation's and government's apparent lack of interest in justice and peace for the nation and people of Palestine. I find myself asking, if our country were suddenly occupied by a vastly superior military force, stripped of our lands and our rights as peaceful human beings, and we then retaliated by bombing the soldiers of the occupying force, would we be freedom fighters, or terrorists? The attack and murder of innocent civilians has ALWAYS been and will ALWAYS be deplorable, regardless of which side of a conflict one is on. I wonder why the Israelis and our own government seem to be blissfully unaware of this fact, when taking into account their (our) own actions.
Thank you for continuing to speak out on behalf of Israelis and Palestinians, who want what we have in abundance here in the US: to live without fear, to raise our children in a land where possibilities are nearly endless, and to have the freedom to choose our own paths to happiness (life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness). Too long the Palestinians have been denied these basic unalienable rights.
Your continued choice to speak out, whenever possible, to draw attention to this issue which affects us all, in the face of criticism and ignorance, will not be forgotten.
Please keep up the great work!!!
Dear President Carter:
I was happy to see you dedicate the new biodiesel production facility in Plains, GA recently. I have worked on several projects involving alternative energy and was wondering if you are still interested in the development of synfuels like you were back in the 1970's?
Israel are the occupiers? Maybe you need to look in the Bible that you supposedly hold so dear. Maybe you need to understand Middle East history and recognize that Israel was forced out of Judea by the Romans under Hadrian. Then the name of the area was changed to Palestine. Next, it is amazing that you criticize any administration. Maybe we should follow your role of appeaser and talk to the terrorists. Maybe you would like to sit down with Bin Laden and broker a deal. Next, about our economy? I bet you would have loved 2.5% inflation and only 4.5% unemployment? You are still a democrat? The party of abortion, gay rights and secularism? Christ I am sure is pleased!
I am in full support of the comments made by Jimmy Carter regarding the current administration. I feel that you voiced the feelings of a large group of Americans. It is a shame that your comments fell on deaf ears. It is unfortunate that Mr. Bush does not listen to the American people either. 2008 cannot come quickly enough. Let's just hope he does not get us into another unnecessary war before he is no longer in power. Please pass this message on to Mr. Carter.
Thank you!
President Carter, (note: you no longer deserve that title)
I voted for you, what a young fool I was! You are hurting America with your public commentary, please be quite. Your charitable work is commendable, continue with that, buit please don't fly around the world causing more trouble and please shut up, for God's sake. We are in a time of war with terrorism, as such, you're comments are treasonous!
I am apologize for any comment that hurts your pride or your feelings, however, I feel compelled to send you a message to please stop embarrasing ths country and yourself.
Sincerely,
S. Alley
P.S. I aggree with every negative comment posted above!!!!!!
Carter, you are a disgrace to this country. Your actions at the very least are sedtitious and possibly treasonous. Your actions have enabled our enemies. How many of our soldiers will you take responsibility for by acting on behalf of the terror elements in the Middle East? I was a young man when you were President, and all I can say is thank God for Ronald Reagan. After you decimated our national image and morale, Reagan was able to bring us back from the brink. Carter, you need to stop believing that you are a man of vision and integrity. You are neither. You are an embarrassment and only the enemies of the United States value your opinions. Just immerse yourself in your house-building and be quiet. That would be the honorable thing to do. Please honor this country and do that.
Mr. Carter,
You once again have braved the current repressive political environment in our country and have spoken your mind. I have nothing but extreme admiration for your courage and dedication to peace.
thank you.
Mr. Carter (I refrain from using you previous title), you are nothing but an embarassment to this country. I grew up in the 70's and even at a yound age knew you as an ineffectual leader, just weak. I did however consider you a good person. You are nothing more than a bitter, left wing nut-job who needs to go back to Georgia and pick your peanuts. Leave this country to to those who actually have some sense.
Dear Mr. Carter,
Besides being the worst president this country has ever had, you now have the gall to meet and greet Hamas with hugs and kisses. Have you no shame or dignity? Have you no common sense? Go back to the peanut farm and stay there, Mr. Carter because you have absolutely NO right to criticize the current administration or any other for that matter. None has been as corrupt and predictably ineffective and inefficient as yours. Go home, read a good book, and stay as far away from foreign policy matters as one can possibly stay.
Your actions are despicable!

Well Mr Carter, you are at it again. Once again you are managing to embarass us around the globe. Laying a wreath on the tomb of the world's most famous terrorist. I was in Iran when you allowed Khomani to return from France after exile. You are the father of terrorism. That will be your legecy. Your award in Stockholm was nothing more than liberal Europe's opportunity to embarass America. How can you continue to comment on the current administration while your presidency was an outright failure. Please do us a favor, go home to Plains and eat your peanuts and just retire. Remember if your can't lead, follow, if not, get out of the way!
Former President Carter did more damage to our country than any other modern day president, but he apparently feels he must continue his legacy in that vein. His intention to meet with the leaders of the terrorist group Hamas is nothing more than an embarrasment of the U.S. to the world. Although history has repeatedly shown that it is impossible to negotiate with terrorists, former President Carter believes he is somehow "greater" than those in the past who have attempted to do so. In my humble opinion, it is just another example of Mr. Carter's egotistical, pompous, and arrogant ways.
Mr. Carter
I have to tell you I voted fot you two times. At this point in my life I also feel that they are the two biggest mistakes I ever made. May God bless and protect you and also those you are harming by your actions.
Mr. Carter
I have to tell you I voted fot you two times. At this point in my life I also feel that they are the two biggest mistakes I ever made. May God bless and protect you and also those you are harming by your actions.
Dear Mr. Carter:
I remember election day 1980. I had voted for you and then gone to bed early, planning on awakening at midnight to stay up watching the late results come in, in what I expected to be a close election. I was horrified upon awakening into what at the moment was the nightmare of Ronald Reagan's landslide victory.
Your behavior and actions as the ex-president were initially both honorable and beyond reproach. Your work building houses with Habitat for Humanity showed a depth of caring about people and a sublime humility rarely seen in public figures. It was a "Cincinnatus" moment if I may- a farmer called to serve, returns humbly to civilian life upon completion of his tasks. Truly heroic. I was never prouder of an ex-president. I found you to be exemplary.
So what has happened? Now you are out in the international scene, supporting dictators, aiding and abetting terrorists and generally playing the fool to the most evil people on the face of the Earth. Your fall is the saddest thing I think I have ever seen on the political landscape. Pitiful and ugly. Your Secret Service detail must be the most embarrassed group in their history and it must be considered as punishment for those assigned to you.
I now thank God (remember him?) for Ronald Reagan's election and your defeat. I cannot imagine what idiocy ever led me to vote for you in the first place. Your failures were legion and successes miserable. You did more in one term to harm this nation than any other president has ever under achieved. You have sullied your own memory and will go down in history as the bigoted, willfully blind legacy-seeking churl you have turned out to be. Your actions shame me as a citizen of the United States (remember that?).
Sincerely,
Noah Vaile
Mr. Jimmy Carter,
I will not give you the honor of calling you President, because you have never earned it. Once again, you have placed yourself in the middle of our foreign policy and circumvented actions of our elected officials by visiting Humas. You could not handle foreign policy when you sat in the White House, what makes you think you can do it now. You are a meddling hasbeen who never was and need to go back to pushing peanuts instead of insisting that you have the answer to the worlds problems. You don't, because you are the problem.
We do not want you continuing to try and represent us, you don't. You were voted out, so stay out.........
I've heard about your trips to third-world countries to ensure that there were no voting irregularities...it's quite an admirable thing to do--to ensure that all votes count in an election.
So now I wonder, how do you sleep at night knowing that right here in the United States of America, your own party has disenfranchised 2.3 million American voters and what is your response??? Oh yeah, you actually support the candidate that benefits from it and goes along with it! SHAME ON YOU JIMMY CARTER, that's nothing more than hypocritical!
Dear Mr Carter:
I can see being a public figure opens you up to lot of hate email. Let me add to that to my mind you are the first US politician of note that has the courage to speak out against the failed policies of the US particularly in the Middle East. Of course it helps you know longer need to be elected. Not sure why someone thinks you are bitter whenever I have heard you of late you always seem in a cheerful mood. Keep on smiling and taking the lead on a difficult issues.
