The Moonlit Road: Southern Ghost Stories

Are you ready for a good ghost story? You should have one or two prepared for campouts this summer, when a good story around the camp fire is a must.Today's Family First Site aims to help finding that story for you, while learning about American culture.

Called The Moonlit Road, this site tells of ghost stories and strange folktales of the American South. There are new stories every month, and are available in text or streaming audio, and are told by the best storytellers from the area the story is about. The current story is about what a woman would do for a pair of red shoes, and is most interesting (but try the streaming audio, it REALLY catches the atmosphere). There are archives of past stories, available to members only (which is free), and a book store.

This is a great site not only for summer camp out, but will be a good one for Halloween as well. You can read these stories either during the day, or at night. However, if you read them at night, you do so at your own risk. You have been warned!!
